Felt is considered to be one of the oldest know textile to human kind.Felt is a part of non-woven textile material that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibers together.

Raw material for Felt can be

  1. Natural fibers : Wool or animal fur
  2. Synthetic fibers: Petroleum-based acrylic or acrylonitrile or wood pulp-based rayon.
  3. Blended fibers: Mixture of both fibers mentioned above.

Woolen/Wool Felt: Wool Felt is manufactured without the process of stitching, weaving, or knitting. It is made by the physically interlocking the fibers through a combination of mechanical work, moisture, and heat. Apart from that they are also manufactured by needling also.
